Abstract

The article examines the intellectual, academic, and political trajectory of Professor Dimitar Ivanov Mishaikov (1883 – 1945), a significant yet insufficiently studied figure in Bulgarian economic and social history. It explores his education and scholarly work, his contribution to the development of economic education and statistics, as well as his active involvement in political life and the formulation of key economic policies during the interwar period. Particular attention is paid to the interaction between economic theory and practical policymaking within the broader context of early Bulgarian capitalism.
