Abstract

The subject of analysis in the article is the problem of defining the digital economy. The aim is to examine whether the definition of "digital" is sufficient to differentiate the digital economy. The task is based on the critical and comparative approach to make sense of the difference between economics and economic stage. By applying various criteria (technological, economic, social, etc.), the digital economy is defined as a stage in the evolution of the capitalist type of economic system.
