Abstract

A long-lasting discussion on the role and effects of the financial integration in developed and emerging countries exists among the academics and policy-makers during the last years. In the center of this discussion are mostly the positive and the negative eff ects from the globalization of fi nancial markets. In this connection, firstly, in the current study an analysis is made on the nature, theoretical foundations, characteristics and arguments for the process of globalization and the consequences resulting from this process.
