Abstract

The article aims to analyze the determinants of the geographical distance of university-industry interactions in Brazil. By controlling for variables already studied and identified as relevant for explaining the geographical distance of interactions, the results indicate the existence of differences in the pattern of behavior (i) for research groups located in different types of institutions and belonging to distinct scientific areas, (ii) for firms classified by technological appropriateness and capacity and (iii) for the type and funding of interactions.
