Die Bedeutung von Infrastrukturgenossenschaften für die kommunale Daseinsvorsorge

Abstract

Providing services of generel economic interest is increasingly difficult for municipalities due to decreasing employment rates as well as low government budgets. A possible solution is the stronger integration of citizens and companies in legal cooperatives. In this way it would be possible to continue using the existing - and equally establish new structures. The purpose of this article is to show, why the legal form of cooperatives is a valuable tool to ensure the preservation of services of generel economic interest and to expand the possibilities for participation.
