Sozialpolitik und die Hegemonie der "Hausväterökonomie". Anmerkungen zur Sozialstaatsdebatte

Abstract

Die von Peter Sloterdijk losgetretene Debatte über die Sozialpolitik hat gezeigt, wie wenig unsere Intellektuellen über die Finanzierung des Sozialbudgets wissen. Sloterdijks Behauptung, die Besserverdienenden seien die "gebende Hand" des Wohlfahrtsstaates, ist schon deshalb falsch, weil zwei Drittel der Sozialleistungen von den Sozialversicherungen finanziert werden, in die obere Einkommensgruppen dank Beitragsbemessungs- und Versicherungspflichtgrenze entweder gar keine oder nur reduzierte Beiträge einzahlen. Sozialpolitik ist zudem schon lange keine Armenfürsorge mehr, sondern dient der Bereitstellung unverzichtbarer Infrastruktureinrichtungen moderner Gesellschaften.
