Abstract

Der Beitrag wirbt für eine Rückkehr zur produktivitätsorientierten Lohnpolitik in Deutschland nach langen Jahren der Lohnzurückhaltung. Für die Metallindustrie wird für eine Lohnsteigerung in der Lohnrunde 2007 von deutlich über 4 %, bezogen auf die Effektivlöhne je Beschäftigtenstunde, plädiert. Zwar sollten sich Lohnzuwächse grundsätzlich nicht am Zuwachs der Branchenproduktivität ausrichten, sondern am gesamtwirtschaftlichen Durchschnitt (Trend) plus der Zielinflation. Da in den anderen Sektoren die Lohnzuwächse jedoch weit unter dem liegen, was gesamtwirtschaftlich notwendig ist (3-3,5 %), sind überdurchschnittliche Zuwächse in der Metallindustrie nicht nur legitim, sondern auch makroökonomisch wünschenswert. Davon gehen keine Preissteigerungen aus, die über der Zielinflation der EZB liegen.
