Abstract

Este ensayo hace parte de la investigación que se adelanta en la Escuela de Negocios y Ciencias Empresariales de la Universidad Sergio Arboleda de Colombia sobre los efectos del Tratado de Libre Comercio Colombia-Estados Unidos en las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes) colombianas. Detractores y defensores del Tratado sustentan sus posiciones en tres argumentos: 1. La inmensa teoría sobre el papel del comercio exterior en el desarrollo. 2. Los resultados de las negociaciones que ha tenido EE.UU. con países como México, Chile y Centroamérica. 3. Argumentos de orden nacional que cuestionan la capacidad que tienen los productores nacionales para favorecerse con el TLC. El proyecto funde en un cuerpo investigativo la eventual firma del Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) y la suerte que le espera a las pymes bajo ese contexto. En el presente avance de investigación se identifican supuestos del modelo ricardiano y se contrastan con hechos de la economía real.
