La inmigración italiana a Mar del Plata

Abstract

Este trabajo describe las características de la inmigración italiana a la ciudad de Mar del Plata y alguno de los procesos vinculados a la integración de los inmigrantes residentes en el período comprendido desde su fundación, en 1874, hasta el año 1930. Para analizar dichos procesos, exponemos en primer lugar las causas por las que Italia generó una corriente emigratoria tan importante, como así también los motivos por los cuales nuestro país atrajo a este caudal inmigratorio. Consideramos, en segundo término, a la inmigración italiana a la ciudad de Mar del Plata desde su fundación, analizando ocupaciones y lugar de residencia de esos migrantes. Concluimos con una evaluación del proceso de integración de esa comunidad y su influencia en el turismo y en el desarrollo de la ciudad.
