Abstract

En marzo de 1998 el Centro de Estudios Avanzados (CEA) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) publicó, por intermedio de EUDEBA, una compilación de ensayos en honor al Dr. Julio Hipólito Guillermo Olivera (1929-2016), agrupados y presentados por el Dr. Miguel Teubal, discípulo, interlocutor y amigo del agasajado. Según sus palabras, en esa obra se trataba de "homenajearlo en el primer aniversario de su nombramiento como profesor emérito", ocurrido en 1997, al cumplir cuarenta años como docente en la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas (FCE) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Con motivo de su reciente fallecimiento, ocurrido el 25 de julio de 2016, a la edad de 87 años, se edita una nueva compilación de ensayos. Este es un homenaje a un "economista de economistas", acaso la figura de mayor prestigio -nacional e internacional-, junto con la de Raúl Prebisch, que haya dado la disciplina en Argentina. Curiosamente, el texto que ahora nos ocupa tiene pie de imprenta en marzo de 2019, a exactos 21 años de aquella publicación.
