Abstract

El fenómeno migratorio que en los países del Norte se ha dado en llamar ammenity migration, que podría ser descripto como una “migración inversa”, de la ciudad al campo, efectivizada por personas que, habiendo sido turistas en un determinado destino, deciden regresar a él, ya no para visitarlo, sino para constituirse en habitantes del mismo. Por distintas razones estos migrantes toman la decisión de abandonar sus lugares de residencia (por lo general, grandes ciudades) para establecerse en pequeñas localidades con un patrimonio ambiental escénicamente valioso. El propósito de este artículo es dar cuenta del tipo de procesos en términos demográficos y sociales que este fenómeno migratorio a la inversa produce en los destinos turísticos de montaña, desde un estudio de caso en la localidad de San Martín de los Andes en Neuquén.
