Manejo ambiental de actividades turísticas en el corredor de los grandes lagos argentino chilenos

Abstract

El uso turístico de las áreas naturales en la zona de los lagos Argentino-Chilenos ha experimentado un notable crecimiento en los últimos años, como correlato del auge del turismo en este tipo de espacios en todo el mundo. A pesar que desde el punto de vista político la integración binacional es cada vez más motivo de reuniones periódicas, y a pesar de los esfuerzos técnicos realizados en el pasado por hacer de los circuitos que vinculan a la Argentina con Chile un producto integrado; en el ámbito de la investigación del turismo la problemática de cómo alcanzar estos objetivos estratégicos, tanto del punto de vista productivo como de la conservación del patrimonio bioregional, no han sido abordados. Esta investigación ha analizado los problemas derivados de algunas de las actividades de turismo alternativo que se desarrollan en el corredor binacional más transitado de la Patagonia. Los resultados de la investigación caracterizan la administración de las instituciones responsables del manejo del uso público en las áreas protegidas de ambos países, definen Umbrales Ambientales Límites para las actividades estudiadas y proponen pautas para el manejo de las mismas, que permitan su mejor operación en el futuro próximo.
