Complejizar los estudios en turismo: el turismo LGBT como modalidad turística en Argentina

Abstract

El turismo y las sexualidades no heterocentradas han sido dos asuntos poco confrontados en el ámbito nacional desde los estudios académicos. El objetivo principal de este artículo es presentar un recorrido iniciático que sirva de plataforma en la relación de la práctica turística y la consigna LGBT desde sus alcances conceptuales y espaciales, planteando disparadores para nuevas interpretaciones e interpelaciones. Como resultado, el turismo LGBT se presenta como un tema de gran potencialidad analítica de cara a comprender los esquemas culturales de las comunidades receptoras, sus sedimentaciones con los destinos de naturaleza metropolitana y los desequilibrios que, detrás de esta modalidad, se producen hacia adentro del colectivo. Con esto, no se niega el rédito económico que ésta pueda representar, sino que se busca realzar el papel que puede desplegar como puente social, por lo menos, para el caso argentino.
