La preeminencia del turismo hebdomadario en la gestión turística de Domingo A. Mercante

Abstract

El turismo asociado al descanso semanal o hebdomadario se consolidó como política activa del primer gobierno peronista y encontró su lugar de privilegio en la provincia de Buenos Aires (Argentina). En este marco, el presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar su desarrollo en la región, a la luz del impulso brindado por el gobernador Domingo Alfredo Mercante a lo largo de su primera y segunda gestión. A partir de una investigación documental y posterior contrastación bibliográfica, pudo inferirse que el gobernador desarrolló todo un cuerpo legislativo conducente a la generación de feriados, la construcción de caminos cortos, la inclusión de hospedaje económico y otras diversas estrategias que facilitaron el avance de dicha modalidad.
