Abstract

El presente ensayo reflexiona acerca de las nociones conceptuales referidas a turismo masivo y alternativo desarrolladas en la literatura científica especializada a nivel internacional. Esta tarea resulta relevante en tanto permite considerar las conceptualizaciones mencionadas en función de las experiencias y las realidades locales para aplicarlas al estudio de destinos de la costa atlántica argentina. El trabajo aspira a dar el primer paso en el proceso de elaboración de marcos analíticos que consideren los procesos sociales y económicos del contexto local teniendo en cuenta, además, su desarrollo histórico, para que puedan ser refractarios de las realidades locales y constituirse en instrumentos eficaces para la gestión de la actividad turística.
