Impacto producido en la actividad turística por el incremento de días feriados en Argentina

Abstract

En Argentina comienza a visualizarse una tendencia similar a la observada a nivel mundial de incremento de la actividad turística en fines de semana durante los últimos años induciendo a establecer un nuevo calendario de feriados para el país atento al impacto deseable de tal medida. De tal modo en 2010 se dispuso dicho calendario para su aplicación en Argentina. En la finalidad de generar un creciente movimiento de turistas y por ende de divisas, sobre todo en aquellas ciudades cuya principal fuente de ingresos es la actividad económica basada en el turismo. De allí surge la inquietud por conocer cuál es la repercusión que en la actividad turística producen los días feriados de mayor duración en Buenos Aires, en este caso de cuatro días: 1) Carnaval; 2) Día Nacional de la Memoria por la Verdad y la Justicia y Feriado Puente; 3) Semana Santa; y 4) Día de la Inmaculada Concepción de María y Feriado Puente. Con ese propósito, en el presente estudio se hace referencia al tratamiento legal del tema, abocándose a efectuar una estimación de la cantidad de llegadas que involucran los períodos mencionados y del gasto que ellas generan para luego evaluar su impacto.
