Abstract

The aim of this article is to evaluate the resilience of territories due to the morphology of local firms’ networks, here Montpellier’s urban area. Two kind of data collection lead up to carry out the analysis, firstly a statistical survey to a sample group and secondly a census of shared patents pending. The first step of the approach enables to analyse the motives that lead firms to build up innovative partnerships. In the second step, we model the networks thanks to the theory of graph on different periods of time. In the end, the analysis reveals pivotal firms within the lattice structure. The firms have an important role in the resilience and the spatial organization of the territory. Thus, with some economic conditions, the geographical concentration or dispersal of the activities continues.
