L’aristocratie suédoise et la France dans la seconde moitié du XVIIIe siècle

  • Wolff, Charlotta
Registered author(s):

    Au cours du XVIII e siècle, les relations entre la France et la Suède étaient excellentes et les contacts diplomatiques très soutenus. Plutôt que d’étudier les influences politiques ou culturelles, cet article se propose d’analyser les liens entre la politique étrangère, les charges publiques et les intérêts privés des personnalités suédoises concernées par ces relations. Les rapports entre la noblesse suédoise et la France se placent dans le contexte de la société de cour, avec sa logique caractéristique du don et du contre-don, et son jeu complexe de loyautés politiques et d’honneurs. De même, la matérialisation de la représentation diplomatique tout comme les investissements de l’aristocratie suédoise dans des structures militaires françaises suivent des modèles aristocratiques de représentation ostentatoire et de prestige.
