Abstract

L’histoire de la Société Auxiliaire d’Entreprises (SAE), première société française de bâtiment à partir de la fin des années 1950, permet d’analyser le transfert des modes de production fordistes dans la construction de logements. La SAE est parvenue à développer des techniques sensiblement éloignées de l’industrialisation lourde préconisée par les pouvoirs publics dans un secteur à très forte intervention étatique. Pourtant, sa productivité lui a permis de s’imposer, grâce à l’exceptionnelle rationalisation technique, financière et commerciale de ses chantiers.
