Through this research we aim to analyze the impact of social networks on the recruitment process for intelligence services. The premise of this research is that social networks are a constant and unlimited way to get information about their users, and this information can help create user profiles. Our goal is to establish if social networks can be used in the human resources recruitment process. Social media facilitate the distribution of information to many people in a very short time, and this can be exploited by intelligence services, either to inform citizens about certain issues related to ensuring national security or to promote the institution or to streamline the recruitment process by attracting potential candidates and identifying suitable candidates, analyzing their work in the online environment. This is the relationship we have relied on in our research: the need for intelligence services to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by social media. The purpose of this research is to identify the human resources recruitment activity carried out by the Romanian intelligence services on social networks to establish the need to carry out a procedure for identifying candidates on social networks. To achieve the proposed goal, we used content analysis as a research method. The research only targeted public posts distributed by the Romanian intelligence services on social networks. Following the research, we concluded that the Romanian intelligence services pay attention to social networks and are officially present in the online environment, although they do not carry out an intense activity. Some of the posts distributed on these pages are aimed at recruiting human resources, which means that for Romanian intelligence services, users of social networks are a pool of human resources recruitment.
