Abstract

Domenico Nunnari, with a background as an excellent RAI journalist at regional and national level, has recently published an evocative book that is an act of love for his Calabria, bringing together past and present, revealing the historical and cultural beauties of his homeland, without omitting its defects and making suggestive proposals for action. Gianfranco Dioguardi, an engineer, university lecturer, entrepreneur, humanist, has, in turn, issued a volume that traces the path for a new science for town administration. Between philosophy and technology, his analyses and proposals follow each other well coordinated. Civil society and the State are called to a common commitment to reorganize the urban fabric, in the constant search for a well-being that also demands a true security for citizens, in proceeding towards a «town of neighborhoods». The author Zoppi, starting from these two essays, although different from each other but read in a single light - that of a virtuous civil and economic development - hopes that the ideas and proposals by Dioguardi and Nunnari can be endorsed by a first cluster of municipal administrations, giving life to organizations able to run real territorial governance.
