2017-2022: Even in Italy Tourism is planned. Updating the new season in Italian policies of tourism

Abstract

In February 2017, for the first time in Italy, the Tourism Strategic Plan 2017-2022 (PST 2017-2022) has been approved by the government. Lately that year, in December, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has approved also the first Operational Program. This article provides an analysis of the main characteristics of current Italian strategies on the tourism sector; it presents the vision, the principal strategies and the main goals of the PST 2017-2022, and proposes the project of the Tourism Operational Program 2017-2018.
