Abstract

Since 2021 the Grant Office for European funding has been working inside the Italian Ministry of Culture. The Operational Unit bases its action on three main activities: capacity building, networking, and communication to build stronger awareness and knowledge among the personnel involved in managing European projects, both of the past and the current Programme periods, where the administration is present as partner. Clear rules, standardization of the procedures, monitoring of the several interventions funded by the European Programmes, and the creation of a network with entities, academics, and organizations committed to research and innovation applied to cultural heritage, are the resultsobtained until today. Moreover, for the first time, it is possible to give a picture both qualitative and quantitative of the presence of the Ministry of Culture in the European transnational partnership.
