Abstract

This article aims to analyze the evolution of reading practices in Italy and the relationship between the dissemination of books and the socio-economic transformations in our Country. For a complete understanding of the phenomena it is necessary a wide panorama and a long-term analysis. The development of new media and the effects of digital revolution on human behavior, especially during the pandemic crisis 2020-2022 and the lockdown, have profoundly transformed cultural participation.
