Abstract

In an increasingly competitive cultural sector, crowded with new actors and subjected to important legislative reforms, the methods of intervention of the banking foundations, one of the main culture supporters in Italy, have changed significantly. Since their establishment, the banking origin foundations have played a very important role in the art and culture sector in Italy, with extremely significant disbursements, so much so that many cultural operators are in fact dependent on their loans. Over time, the strategic profile of the interventions of the Foundations has evolved, integrating the original «granting foundation» function with that of «operating foundations », selecting projects that are worthy both from a cultural point of view and for their sustainability in the medium / long term.
