Abstract

Cultural Welfare is the reference topic for a project, developed by ATER Foundation (Emilia-Romagna Theatres Association) and currently in its initial steps of implementation, which focuses on theatre and the positive effects it can produce on the well-being of people, for all what it represents and enables in a network and system logic, aimed at creating and supporting the development of widespread initiatives rooted in their territories and communities. Theatre Syrup – this is the project’s title – targets children aged 3-8 and their families, and relies on the partnership between theatres, paediatricians and pharmacies. With a special prescription for this «exceptional medicine», provided by paediatricians or available at pharmacies, children and families are being offered tickets at a price of 2 euro for three different shows, programmed directly by ATER in 22 towns of the Region Emilia-Romagna. The main goal of the project is to create a permanent cross-sectoral collaboration between the regional Departments of Culture and of Health and Welfare, with the local Authorities and the professionals of all the sectors involved.
