To The Question Of Investment In Art Objects: Art Indexes

Abstract

The paper discusses various ways to assess the dynamics of the art market for investment purposes and provides the dynamics of estimated indices built on principle of sales aggregation. Separately considered the dynamics of the Mei-Moses index, built on principle of changing the cost of repeat sales. The authors proposed an index built on principle of evaluating of art in the art secured lending market. The conclusion was made and justified that investment in art and antiques are attractive for diversifying the investment portfolio.
