Abstract

Present times are characterized by a change in the standard business environment. The primary characteristics of the new environment include globalization, development of the information economy, transformation of companies and the development of digital businesses and firms. Each of these characteristics influences business conditions and the behavior of companies. The traditional way of operation is constantly changing, and the companies are facing the challenges of management on the global market, competition on the world market, constant inovation of new technologies, products and services, shorter product and service lifecycles, decentralized and flecsibile organizational structures, efficient competition from the internet companies etc. The basic aim of this work is to present business information systems from the perspective of corporate management and to show their importance in building an optimal organizational structure, organizational culture and organizational transformation.
