Credit Demand of Rural Enterprise and Loan Supply in China : Report on Data Processing Results of Two Surveys

Abstract

It has been repeatedly reported that rural enterprises lack financing services. This sector has been contributing much to both the Chinese economy and rural economy over the last two decades. Meanwhile the rural banking system has recently experienced profound restructuring. This article contains information about the real situation of rural enterprises financing and provides information on the banking system's restructuring and ways for rural enterprises to overcome financing constraints. Using data from two surveys of rural enterprises, the article presents useful information on financing of rural enterprises.
