Thirty Years Of Sino-Japanese Trade

Abstract

1982 is the tenth anniversary of the normalization of relations between China and Japan. It also marks the twentieth anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Japanese Friendly Trade Protocol and Trade Memorandum, as well as the thirtieth anniversary of the signing of the first Sino-Japanese Nongovernmental Trade Agreement. On this occasion, when Sino-Japanese trade enters the 1980s, the two countries are pushing their cooperation beyond simple exports and imports to more pervasive areas of economic activity. It is therefore particularly significant to review the history of the past thirty years and to forecast prospects for the future.
