Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify financial indicators related to the bank ranking and provide a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making model to rank the Iranian banks. To obtain the financial information of the research population, including 31 banks and 2 financial&credit institutions, the balance sheet and the statement of auditorchr('39')s profit and loss related to the end of 2014 have been used. For analyzing information and ranking of banks, the combination of the fuzzy hierarchy process analysis method (FAHP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) has been used. In the first stage, the importance of each of the financial indicators was obtained using Fuzzy AHP and Take advantage of MATLAB software. In the next step, using the TOPSIS method and applying SmartTopsis software, the banks were ranked. The results of the research indicate that the capital index is one of the most important factors in the ranking of banks, and banks that are not in a good position in terms of financial indicators should seek to strengthen their position by improving the status of financial indicators or merging with strategic partners and or larger banks.
