Ranking of Iranian Banks Based on the CAMELS International Indicators (in Persian)

Abstract

The existence of a proper ranking system helps to increase the health and transparency of the banking system. In addition, It can facilitate to distinguish efficient banks form inefficient banks for customers. Also, The ranking of the financial institutions can lead the managers to try to improve the function to increase their health.The main objective of the research is to propose a systematic method for ranking banks based on Camels international indicators. In order to do this, after reviewing previous internal and foreign studies and looking the environmental conditions of banks activity, we designing the study model. we use the annual financial reports audited on 2015 of the Eqtesad Novine, Iran Zamin, Tejarat, Pasargadae, Middle East, Saderat, Mallet, Karafrin, and Mellal. Then we select 31 indicators from the main Bassel indicators and use them for making a decision matrix table. After, ranking the banks respect to each of indicators by entropy method. Next, for final ranking, the entropy outputs use as an input for the Vikor method. we found the Eqtesad Novin bank was the best bank in the ranking model based on the Camels international indexes.
