Abstract

Seperti yang telah terjadi pada tahun 1986-1987, memasuki triwulan pertama tahun 1988 perekonomian dunia masih berlum memperlihatkan adanya tanda-tanda kepulihan. Seperti yang telah disebutkan pada tinjauan triwulan yang terdahulu bahwa laju pertumbuhan ekonomi dunia pada tahun 1987 yang lalu ternyata lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan laju pertumbuhan yang terjadi pada tahun 1985 dan 1986. Pada akhir tahun 1987negara-negara OECD dan Amerika Serikat diperkirakan hanya mengalami laju pertumbuhan sebesar 2,4 persen. Jerman Barat hanya diperkirakan mengalami laju pertumbuhan yang lebih rendah lagi yaitu hanya sebesar 1,5 persen. Jepang tetap mengalami laju pertumbuhan yang paling tinggi yaitu 3,2 persen.
