Neutrality, Independence and Duality

Abstract

Seperti diketahui, asumsi 'neutrality' dalam General Possibility Theorem dari Arrow tak dapat dipenuhi, karena asumsi Weak Pareto principle. Padahal dalam pembuktiannya Arrow menggunakan 'base relation', dan 'neutrality' merupakan faktor penting. Artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan mengganti WeakPareto condition dengan Pareto indifference rule, maka dengan prinsip 'transitivity' dan 'independence ofirrelevant alternatives'dapat pula dipenuhi 'neutrality'. 'Neutrality' juga dapat dipenuhi. bila digunakan prinsip 'transitivity' dan 'duality'. Karena 'neutrality'dapat didefinisikan sebagai 'independence of irrelevant alternatives' dm 'duality'. Jadi kalau Weak Pareto principle diganti dengan Pareto indifference rule dalam "Arrow's framework", maka 'neutrality', independence of irrelevant alterantives' dan duality' menjadi setara satu terhadap yang lain. Dan hasil ini tak hanya berlaku dalam 'relational framework" tetapi juga dalam "functional framework" dengan 'base relation' ataupun dengan 'revealed preferential'.
