The Labor-Intensity of Indonesia's Exports

Abstract

Kegiatan produksi dalam negeri untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negerikini tidak mampu untuk menyerap pertumbuhan tenaga kerja Indonesia yang kian meningkat itu. Demikian maka produksi untuk pengadaan barang-barang ekspor merupakan unsur penting yang harus diperhitungkan di dalam setiap kebijaksanaan mengenai penciptaan kesempatan kerja. Dalam kegiatan ekspor Indonesia dewasa ini yang kiranya lebih diutamakan adalah usaha ekspor sebagai sumber devisa luar negeri dan bukan usaha ekspor sebagai penyerap tenaga kerja. Kenyataannya ialah bahwa 85 prosen dari nilai ekspor Indonesia terdiri dari barang-barang yang pengadaannya tidak menyerap banyak tenaga kerja. Ekspor tersebut terdiri dari hasil sektor ekstraktif. Terutama minyak bumi.
