Abstract

Furthermore government policies which are taken into account in arriving at these estimates arc : to become self-sufficient in food; to increase the income level of the majority of people in order to mitigate the disparities in income; and to prevent the depletion of our natural resources. However, keeping these stated policies in mind the above mentioned findings can only be achieved if the policies are further directed toward improving the marketing of agricultural products; increasing the supply and improving the distribution of production inputs and extension services; and building of secondary and tertiary irrigation systems on Java as well as expanding agricidtural acreage outside Java.
