Empirical Studies On Production Functions In India

Author

Listed:
  • Widjojo Nitisastro

Abstract

Following the Cobb-Douglas studies in the late twenties many empirical studies on production functions have since been conducted and published. Comparisons have been made between the results of these studies, which almost all refer to highly developed countries, among others the U.S., Australia, New Zealand. Canada and the U.K. An interesting feature of these time-series and cross-section studies has been the high degree of similarity among the results obtained for different countries and different time.
