Deficit Financing For Development And Its Inflationary Impact

Author

Abstract

Deficit financing for development is clearly not the only causal factor making for inflation. Obviously, a budget deficit may be incurred on account of large non-development expenditure — for example, defence expenditure — or from an unexpected decline in revenue. Moreover budgets aside, inflation may be caused by expansionary forces in the private sector or in the foreign trade sector.
