Abstract

As a result of the financial crisis that developed during 1952, the Indonesian Government resolved to reduce drastically both tbe budget deficit and tbe balance of payments deficit in 1953, The target figure for the former was Rp. 1.8 billion, and for the latter Rp. 1.3 billion. It was hoped to make further cuts in these deficit in each of the next three years, so that equilibrium could be established in both the budget and the balance of payments by 1956.
