Comparative Analysis of the Efficiency of the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector in the Period 2000-2015

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the comparative multiparametric analysis of the efficiency of the economic activity of the water and sewerage operators in Bulgaria in the period 2000-2015. It is part of a comprehensive study of a scientific project, according to the Ordinance No.9 of the Ministry of Education and Science of 08.08.2013, with No.NPI-130/2014, on the topic: „The concession as a factor for development of the Water Supply and Sanitation sector in the Republic of Bulgaria“. Conclusions and recommendations concerning the efficiency of revenues, financial results and management of the WSS operators in the statistical regions of the country are made. The possibilities for restructuring the water sector have been examined in order to improve its economic activity and the quality of the WSS services provided to the population.
