Financial Literacy Among Youth in India: An Analytical and Empirical Investigation

Abstract

Financial literacy has become most essential life skill to empower individual, with this skill they can be well informed, more effective, and responsible financial decision makers. In today’s quickly growing and changing economic environment the need for financial literacy among youth has become so important. Because of evolution of digital banking, online platforms, and cashless money transfer financial literacy has become an important part of our life skills. This study focuses on assessing the level of financial literacy among youth in India, as a developing country with rapid growth in financial inclusion, e commerce and electronic financial services. The study is based on both primary as well as secondary data. Primary data has been collected through a questionnaire distributed among young individuals aged 18–30, while secondary data has been gathered from various academic journals, financial reports, and publications by various government and non government institutions.
