Abstract

The objective of this research is to conduct a comparative assessment of physical fitness of university-level cricket and hockey players for the purpose of this study, a total of 200 cricket players were chosen to compare their physical fitness with that of 200 hockey players. The ages of the people who participated in the study ranged anywhere from 18 to 28 years. It was hypothesised that there would be a substantial difference in the degree of physical fitness and flexibility of university-level cricket players in comparison to hockey players. This was a test of the theory. The mean score of physical fitness components obtained for cricket players Bend & reach Flexibility was 15.99, while the mean score for hockey players' Bend & reach Flexibility was 15.15 accordingly. However, the standard deviation of bend and reach flexibility among cricket players was measured at 2.31, while the standard deviation of bend and reach flexibility among hockey players was measured at 2.60. The findings of the study indicate that cricket and hockey players all have significantly different levels of bend and reach flexibility.
