A Study of Organizational Climate among Secondary School Teachers in Kolkata

Abstract

This study examines the organizational climate as perceived by secondary school teachers in Kolkata, West Bengal. A total of 400 teachers (200 government, 200 private) were selected using stratified random sampling. The Organizational Climate Scale for Teachers – Short Version (OCST–SV) developed by Dr. Venita Singh was employed to assess various dimensions of the school environment. The results indicated that while a large proportion of teachers experienced an average organizational climate, significant differences existed across the sample.
