Abstract

ગુજરાતી સાહિત્યમાં નિરજંન નરહરિ ભગત અમદાવાદના વતની હતા. તેમનો જન્મ ઈ.સ.૧૮/૦પ/૧૯ર૬ના રોજ થયો હતો. અને તેમનું મૃત્યુ ૦૧/૦ર/ર૦૧૮માં થયું હતું. નિરજંન ભગત વ્યવસાયે અધ્યાપક હતા. ગુજરાતી અને અંગ્રેજી ભાષા સાહિત્યના આ વિદ્વાન સર્જક સ્વાતંત્ર્યોતર કાળના મોટા કવિ હતા જેમને છંદોલય કિન્નરી અલ્પવિરામ ૩૩ કાવ્યો વગેરે સંગ્રહો દ્વારા પ્રગટ થયેલા તેમના બધા કાવ્યો સંગ્રહો છંદોલય બૃહદ્‌ ગં્રથમાં સંગ્રહાય છે. જેમાં પ્રવાલદ્વિપના કાવ્યો દ્વારા નગરજીવનની પાશ્વાદ્વભૂમિકામાં આધુનિક માનવીની સંવેદના ગુજરાતી કવિતામાં સૌ પ્રથમ પ્રગટ કરી છે. માનવતાના પ્રેમી આ કવિએ ગુજરાતી તેમજ સાહિત્ય વિશે અભ્યાસપૂર્ણ વિવેચન કાર્ય પણ કર્યું છે.
