Abstract

This paper presents the design, implementation, and performance evaluation of an IoT-based real-time location sharing and tracking system. The proposed system integrates Global Positioning System (GPS) modules for precise location acquisition, microcontroller-based processing units (Arduino/ESP32), and wireless communication technologies (GSM, Wi-Fi, or LoRa) to transmit location data to a cloud server. Users can monitor live locations, view route history, and receive instant alerts through intuitive web or mobile interfaces integrated with digital mapping services such as Google Maps. The system incorporates advanced features including geofencing, emergency buzzer alerts, and historical route analysis. Performance evaluation demonstrates high positioning accuracy in open outdoor environments (error
