Abstract

Issue like bandwidth limitation, dynamic topology, Unpredictable link Properties, limited battery life, hidden terminal/exposed terminal problem, route maintenance, Security of Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) due to these several issues providing Quality of Service (QoS) in MANET is challenging task. This paper will focus on detailed review on Several issues and challenges coming in MANET while providing good Quality of Service (QoS) in such network. Because of these several issues in MANET conventional layered approach is not suitable for Mobile Ad-hoc Network, as part of our study we incorporated idea of Cross Layer Design approach which is useful in overcome these several issues which were encountered during conventional MANET environment. This CLD (Cross Layer Design) will serve purpose and definitely outperform performance in terms of parameters like Throughput, Delay and PDR over conventional Manet environment. CLD (Cross-layer Design) represents an appropriate technology, especially in the case of wireless networks. by allowing synchronization, dealings and shared optimization the task of protocols crossing different layers is to handle the functionalities associated to the original layers is main idea.
