Abstract
Effective management of medical equipment is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare institutions. As healthcare systems continue to evolve, the demand for advanced medical equipment and technologies grows, making the optimization of their management increasingly complex. This paper explores key strategies for optimizing medical equipment management in large healthcare institutions, focusing on overcoming operational inefficiencies, financial constraints, regulatory compliance, and technological integration barriers. Through adopting digital asset management systems, predictive maintenance, lifecycle cost analysis, and workforce training, healthcare institutions can significantly improve equipment utilization, reduce costs, and enhance patient care. The paper further examines industry case studies, benchmarking against standards, and emerging trends, such as using AI, blockchain, and cloud-based solutions in the healthcare sector. The findings highlight the importance of strategic policy implementation, investment in technology, and workforce development to address current challenges and prepare for future demands. Recommendations for healthcare providers and policymakers emphasize the need for data-driven decision-making, regulatory advancements, and sustainable procurement models to optimize medical equipment management. By integrating these strategies, healthcare institutions can achieve higher operational efficiency, improved patient outcomes, and enhanced regulatory compliance.
