Abstract

The present study analyses the delicate issue of balance sheets compilation considering the available documentation (State’s Balance Sheet) and the information from the recent census survey on public assets, conducted by the Ministry of Treasury. Regarding cultural heritage, although its identification and evaluation poses several problems, these can be partly solved. The concept of cultural heritage, becomes also relevant to represent a new model of economic development. For this purpose it would be useful to have specific cultural satellite accounts but also to evaluate the life style and the happiness of a society.
