Abstract

El desarrollo sustentable tiene como objetivo principal integrar metas sociales, económicas y ambientales en la búsqueda del bienestar de la sociedad. La equidad social se refiere a la igualdad de oportunidades en el acceso a los beneficios del desarrollo y a una calidad de vida digna para todas las personas, incluyendo las generaciones presentes y futuras. En este documento se presenta un análisis de las políticas de desarrollo sustentable instrumentadas en la ciudad de México durante el periodo 1990-2006. Con ayuda de un modelo econométrico de variables instrumentales, se busca analizar cómo las políticas de desarrollo urbano y de reordenamiento territorial, con un enfoque de equidad, sustentabilidad y competitividad estimulan de forma directa el bienestar de la población de la ciudad de México. Los principales resultados muestran que existen efectos endógenos en la inversión en desarrollo sustentable y el desarrollo humano. Por ello, el controlar los efectos de ordenamiento territorial, daños ambientales y de eficiencia económica, garantiza que realmente el desarrollo sustentable sea de largo plazo./ The main objective of sustainable development is to integrate social, environmental and economic goals in the search of social equity.
