Abstract

El aumento detectado en la persistencia inflacionaria es robusto con respecto a una serie de especificaciones ar(p) estimadas para los procesos de inflación./ Temporal hysteresis or persistence commonly known as a variable, which raises a series of time increases or decreases respect to its steady state due to transitory shocks do not return to its previous equilibrium level. One way to analyze the effect of collisions is through unit root tests. Nelson and Plosser (1982) assert that the movements of a long-term macroeconomic variable are attributed to the trend component, being affected by a shock in this series. This study tests the hysteresis of Inflation in Mexico is divided into three periods from December 2000 to December 2008 and shows a half-life of approximately 9 months, this in relation to inflation shocks, but being almost double life for periods prior or earlier. The increase detected in the persistence of inflation is robust respect to a set of specifications for the estimated ar(p) processes inflation.
